Laura is our resident Horse and Human Bodyworker. She enjoys helping horses and their riders work through shared or “mirrored dysfunction.” Her goal is to restore balance, connection, calmness, and fitness to both horse and rider.

Using Myofascial Release and acupressure, Laura works with each horse-and-rider partnership based on their individual needs. Her approach can support riders of all disciplines and experience levels.

Laura has been compassionately serving the Los Angeles community as a holistic bodyworker since 2007. She received her massage and Myofascial Release training from Hands On Healing Institute in nearby Tujunga, California.

She completed her Equine Myofascial Release training in Florida, following the same John F. Barnes lineage as her human Myofascial Release training.

Laura has also studied Lomilomi in the well-known style of Aunty Margaret Machado. She trained with Machado’s daughter, Nerita Machado, at Keei Beach in South Kona. Laura was also a grateful student of Uncle Freddie Tiramakea of the Aitutaki Cook Islands. She studied the ancient Polynesian healing art of structural alignment, or bone setting, known as Lomi A’e, Kakekirunga.

Laura earned her Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Dongguk University Los Angeles.

Her experienced healing touch helps identify and release chronic aches, tension, and discomfort. Her approach also supports the body’s natural response to the emotional components that may accompany physical tension.
